Anti-Condensation

Anti-Condensation

Prime Quality - Outstanding Service  - Unbeatable Value

The Phoenix Steels Anti-Condensation Membrane is a product designed to eliminate the problem of condensation. When the temperature and humidity conditions reach the dew point, the moisture condenses on the underside of the metal roof and forms droplets of water.

This membrane reduces the potential risk of damage to the contents of the building. Being a more cost effective way of stopping this problem rather than insulating the roof with such products as composite panel.

Anti-condensation backing is available on all Box Profile, 3″ Corrugated and Tile Form sheeting.

Product Information

IDEAL FOR LIVESTOCK BUILDINGS, STABLES AND STORAGE FACILITIES!

Condensation occurs when the temperature and humidity conditions reach the dew point and moisture occurs on the underside of the metal causing an internal drip.

The most common use for the moisture barrier is to protect whats inside the building and prevent any damage from drips.

For example, building you may used Phoenix’s Steels moisture barrier on are:

  • Warehouses
  • Agricultural buildings
  • Lean Tos/ Canopies
  • Stable Blocks
  • Industrial Units
  • Log Cabins
  • Park Homes
  • Garages

Our technical strengths

  • combustibility A2-S1 D0 (EN 1301-1)
  • Bacteria Resistant
  • Improves acoustical insulation

How It Works

The roof panel with the moisture barrier applied provides a medium for trapping the moisture in the specially designed pockets formed in the membrane. The moisture barrier holds the moisture until the conditions go back below the dew point and it is then released back into the air in the form of normal humidity.

The moisture barrier is self adhesive and is applied to the metal panel in the roll forming process. As a result the moisture barrier arrives at the site already in place and ready to be installed. The membrane is resistant to ageing, and has a rubber based adhesive that actually provides an additional layer of protection for your metal panel.

The moisture barrier is made up of a large number of interlaced PES fibres among which there is enough space to store water drops. The moisture barrier serves as a medium for absorbing condensed water drops which evaporate back into the air when the temperature rises. For this process it is important that there is some air circulation (ventilation) present.
